SEGÍTŐ DESIGN: jótékonysági design aukció az iszapkatasztrófa károsultjai javára

Posted in Aukciók by Hellodesign on 2010. október 14. csütörtök

A legszebb gesztus olyan tárgyakat felajánlani, amit mi magunk is értékesnek tartunk ám hajlandóak és képesek vagyunk lemondani róla mások érdekében.

Posted in Aukciók by Hellodesign on 2010. március 26. péntek

Wright’s upcoming Eames auction celebrates the work of Charles and Ray Eames. The sale will feature the Eames Design Archive of John and Marilyn Neuhart alongside fine examples of major furniture forms, Eames oddities and other related works. As official archivists of Eames Office output for more than 30 years, the Neuhart’s meticulously chronicled the work of Charles and Ray Eames and compiled thousands of images, original ephemera, films and documents. The Neuhart’s amassed nearly 100 binders containing photographs, copies, negatives and clippings of nearly all Eames Office production as well as thorough records of the 1976 exhibition Connections: the Work of the Office of Charles and Ray Eames, a scenic cloud backdrop from the Eames Office, a scale model of the Eames Office as it was at the time of Charles Eames death in 1978 and a copy of the complete inventory of Eames’ projects for the IBM Corporation including records from the Mathmatica exhibition. The Eames Design Archive of John and Marilyn Neuhart is a comprehensive and scholarly collection that attests to the Eames’ iconic reputation as leaders in mid-twentieth century design.

Another development in the increased role auction houses are beginning to play in promoting the next wave of design talent: Sotheby’s is now taking an interest in selling work produced by newly emerging designers. The work from Eindhoven will be presented at Sotheby’s London between May 14 and 18, 2010 after a stop at the Milan Furniture Fair.

Philip Michael Wolfson’s second donation for the Make it Right Foundation

Philip Michael Wolfson in collaboration with Phillips de Pury & Company is pleased to announce that part of the proceeds from the sale of Wolfson’s Genoa desk at the Phillips de Pury & Company Design Sale on June 3, 2009 will benefit the Make It Right Foundation, New Orleans. The Make It Right Foundation was founded in 2006 by actor and New Orleans resident Brad Pitt to address the needs of the Lower 9th Ward’s original residents. The Results Are In: Phillips de Pury Design Auction

Posted in Aukciók by Hellodesign on 2009. május 6. szerda

There were likely many collectors paying close attention to the results of the April 30th design auction at Phillips de Pury & Company in London. Clearly, the darlings of the auction block are still strong and the sale of one of Marc Newson’s iconic Lockheed Lounge chairs for £950,000 (well above its pre-auction estimate) is sure to grab most headlines. But the real story here is that although the market for quality design pieces may have softened slightly, it remains relatively strong with many pieces selling either within or just below their pre-auction estimates. While lots by design giants like the Eameses and Mies van der Rohe went unsold, other mid to late century pieces by lesser-known designers had a very good showing.
