SQUARES by Frederik Roije
Frederik Roijé presented his new work “Squares” in Milan Salone del Mobile 2009 leaving visitors with good impressions. Industrial and interior designer Roijé believes that “products have a habit of disappearing because of their functionality. I want to prevent this by giving products an additional value. This value is the story behind the product.” According to Roijé the limited “Square” edition, is a re-invention of traditional furniture, a reinvention of our being, our presence; a period of reflection. Square is a series of confusing objects that are waiting to be reflected. The series consists of chairs, seaters and an actual size rocking horse. The series is made of wood using the latest CNC techniques and it is finished off with durable coating.
